Fun Thrift Store Find and Marriage Counseling

I shop a lot.

I don’t necessarily buy a lot

But I am always looking.

Never know when I will find the next great deal.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I ran into my local Goodwill on my way home from work.

I spotted this!

100% wool rug, brand new and huge!

At least an 8×10.

$20.

Who priced it? I don’t know but I was glad they didn’t know what they were doing.

I quickly unrolled it all the way across the floor.

Not a spot. Not even lint.

I would have loved to keep it for myself, but I could see myself having to pick tiny black Chihuahua hairs out of all the white stripes.

So I texted my friend a pic and said, “Interested?”

She said, “YES!”

So the rug went home with me, then went into her mom’s car, and finally ended up at my friend’s house.

She was thrilled and sent me this teaser photo of the rug in place with her new pink sofa which I LOVE by the way.

Then I asked Joe if I could have a pink sofa. He said, “No.”

This whole submission thing we are discussing in our pre-marital counseling is starting to not sound as easy as I thought.

Maybe I could trick him with a faded red sofa….is tricking okay when you are submitting like a good wife??:)

  1. Hi Rene’! I know this is an older post, but I was just reading over it again and I think your comment about the faded red couch is hilarious! Also, I’m totally jealous of that rug! Great find!
